We have been going to Reed jewelers for years (even after we move to Chicago) and couldn't be happier with every experience we have had there. The staff is very knowledgeable and everyone takes the time to make sure you are happy with your purchase. We will continue to be customers for future years!

As a side note, I walked in to the store in shorts, a ball cap and a t-shirt. It was evident from the get go that the older man didn't think I could afford his jewelry. I think the old guy thought I was a coach. He sarcastically commented on the "nice basketball season you just had."

There was one young woman with short hair that was very nice however, so they have that going for them.

When I brought the ring back, I was not overly nice, but certainly wasn't rude. I explained to the owner what had happened and he threw the original appraisal on the desk and told me he didn't want my business. He followed me out to my car to try to berate me about the 9.5 years his employee had been there and how much he had donated to the University on the shirt I was wearing. Then, an old woman, I presume to be his wife started yelling at me about my manners, completely ignoring her husband wagging his finger at me.

I had to bring the original appraisal and diamond certification in and the woman was again incredibly rude. We were informed there were some loose diamonds and needed to be repaired. Not uncommon in this type of setting and I wasn't shocked to hear it. But, my wife still wanted them to do the work.

At the end of the day, I believe we were discarded as customers because this particular jeweler thought we weren't in the right tax bracket. We were treated rudely from the first time my wife walked in until the older gentleman told me he didn't want my business.

If I could give less than one star, I would. We had to have a ring appraised for insurance purposes and were told to bring it in to Reed Jewelers. I have never been treated so poorly in all of my life. The original appraisal is 5 years old and we needed a new one for a new policy. When my wife brought it in, she was told that the original appraisal seemed high for "THAT" ring.

I didn't raise my voice, I didn't call names, I didn't insult. I simply said I was offended at how I was treated and how my wife was treated. I think it is rude to insult someone's jewelry.
