Largest selection around! I am getting into backpacking and sport climbing. I have been looking at gear online in many stores, for the type of gear around it is hard to find. For the gear I need its the only place around that even offers most of it. The staff is very knowledgeable of the gear to help you out. Also have to mention on larger items they will price match what deals you find online! So business can stay local instead of Amazon or other places you have no idea where, win win in my opinion.

I've been coming here regularly while I've lived in Champaign. Outdoor stores vary quite a bit, but I can say this one is one of the better ones I have seen. The staff is very helpful, but willing to back off and give you space if you want it. One of their under-appreciated services is the price match policy, which will match for other outdoor retailers (not sure the exact limits) but I have used it a couple times.
The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There are a lot of experienced outdoors people, who are willing to help and answer questions! Prices are great for the quality of merchandise that the store has to offer.
Anything you might need for the great outdoors. Camping conveniences I'd never before heard of! Practical, upscale, name brands, but they also price match automatically. Some great finds on end of season clearance racks.
I really enjoy the events that they hold throughout the year. I am a regular at their pint nights and sidewalk sales.
